Autism Evaluations in Miami & Coral Gables
A thorough, standardized autism assessment for children and teens — with answers you can understand and a plan you can act on.
The Benefits
Advantages of an
Autism Evaluation
Diagnostic
clarity
Standardized autism assessment tools, developmental history, and clinical observation come together into a clear, defensible diagnostic answer.
Access to
services
A documented diagnosis opens doors: therapies, school supports, and Florida scholarship programs like FES-UA all start with proper documentation.
Understanding,
not just a label
You leave knowing your child's specific profile — strengths, differences, and needs — and how to support them at home and school.
The Stakes
When You've Been Wondering for a While
Maybe a teacher raised it gently. Maybe the pediatrician said “let’s wait and see.” Maybe you have been comparing milestones quietly for months. Wondering without answers is exhausting — and when autism is part of the picture, earlier understanding means earlier support, at the ages when support matters most.

What Can an Autism Evaluation Help With?
- A teacher or pediatrician suggested screening
- Social connection seems harder than for peers
- Speech or play developed differently
- Routines and transitions cause intense distress
- Sensory sensitivities affect daily life
- An older child's struggles were never explained
- A previous screening was inconclusive
- FES-UA or services require documentation
Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and language differences can look alike on the surface — and can co-occur. Our job is to tell them apart. If your family also needs scholarship documentation, an autism-focused Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation (CDE) can serve both purposes in one process.
THE EVALUATIONS
Autism Evaluations
by Age
Young children (ages 2–5)
Early evaluations focus on social communication, play, and developmental history, often through play-based assessment. Early answers mean early access to the interventions with the strongest evidence behind them.
School-age children
For elementary-age children we assess social communication alongside learning, attention, and emotional functioning — because at this age, the question is often “autism, ADHD, anxiety, or some combination?”
Tweens and teens
Older kids — especially those who have learned to mask — are often missed by earlier screenings. We evaluate with tools and interview approaches appropriate for adolescents and their real social worlds.
After an inconclusive result elsewhere
If a previous screening left you without a clear answer, a comprehensive evaluation with standardized diagnostic tools and a thorough history can resolve the question properly.

Questions About Autism Evaluations
What ages do you evaluate for autism?
We evaluate children and adolescents, from toddlers through the teen years. The assessment approach is adapted to your child’s age and language level; we will confirm fit during the intake call.
Can the evaluation be done in Spanish?
Yes. Developmental history, assessment, and feedback are available in English and Spanish.
Will this work for the FES-UA scholarship?
Yes — when autism is diagnosed, we document it in the comprehensive format Florida scholarship processes rely on. Tell us at intake that FES-UA is a goal so the report is prepared accordingly.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance. You may contact your insurance provider regarding potential out-of-network reimbursement for diagnostic evaluation.
What happens after a diagnosis?
Feedback includes a concrete plan: recommended therapies and services, school supports to request, and how to use the documentation. When helpful, we collaborate directly with your child’s school or providers.
