Parenting Support in Coral Gables: PCIT & SPACE
The most powerful person in your child's treatment is you. Our parent-based programs prove it — with evidence to back it up.
The Benefits
The Benefits of
Parent-Based Treatment
Change without
the waitlist fight
Your child doesn't have to buy in, open up, or even attend. In PCIT and SPACE, parents are the treatment — and it works.
Skills you keep
forever
You learn concrete, practiced techniques — not vague advice — that keep working long after the program ends, and for every child in the house.
A calmer
home
Fewer battles, shorter meltdowns, warmer connection. Families consistently describe the change as life-altering.
The Stakes
When You've Tried Everything
Sticker charts, time-outs, taking away the tablet, giving the tablet back, gentle parenting scripts at midnight — most parents who call us have tried everything the internet offers. The problem isn’t your effort. It’s that generic advice isn’t a protocol. PCIT and SPACE are structured, coached, evidence-based programs — and that difference is everything.

The Programs
Which Program
Fits Your Family?
PCIT — for big behaviors in young children
Best for roughly ages 2–7 when defiance, aggression, or tantrums dominate daily life. You interact with your child while a therapist coaches you in real time — building warmth first, then effective limits. Read our full PCIT guide.
SPACE — for childhood anxiety
Best when anxiety is steering the household: reassurance loops, avoidance, school refusal, separation battles. Parents learn to reduce the accommodations that feed anxiety while increasing support — no child participation required. Read our SPACE explainer.
Parent guidance & coaching
For everything in between: consistency between caregivers, screen time standoffs, routines, and supporting a child with ADHD or learning differences. Practical, judgment-free, and specific to your family.
Combined with child therapy
Many families pair parent work with individual therapy for their child — the two reinforce each other, and we coordinate both under one roof.

Questions About PCIT & SPACE
Does my child need to attend sessions?
For SPACE — no, the treatment works entirely through parents. For PCIT, your child attends and plays while you’re coached in the moment. Either way, the child never has to “want therapy” for treatment to work.
What ages are these programs for?
PCIT is designed for young children, roughly ages 2–7. SPACE was developed for children and adolescents whose anxiety affects family life. On the consultation call we’ll confirm fit for your child’s age and situation.
Do parent-based programs really work?
Yes — both PCIT and SPACE are supported by strong clinical research. SPACE was developed and tested at the Yale Child Study Center; PCIT has decades of evidence behind it for early childhood behavior problems.
Can we do this virtually?
Yes. Both programs adapt well to telehealth — coaching you in your actual home, where the behaviors happen, is often an advantage. We serve families across Florida virtually.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance. You may contact your insurance provider regarding potential out-of-network reimbursement.
