Psychoeducational Evaluations in Miami & Coral Gables
When school feels harder than it should, a psychoeducational evaluation shows you exactly why — and exactly what to do next.
The Benefits
Advantages of a
Psychoeducational Evaluation
Understand how your
child learns
See your child's cognitive profile, academic skills, attention, and processing abilities laid out clearly — strengths as well as struggles.
A roadmap for
school
Receive specific recommendations for classroom supports, accommodations, tutoring focus, and home strategies that match your child's profile.
Documentation
schools use
Our reports are written to support IEP and 504 plan discussions, accommodation requests, and eligibility reviews in Miami-Dade and other Florida districts.
The Stakes
When Learning Struggles Go Unanswered
Bright kids who struggle in school often start believing something is wrong with them. Homework battles escalate, confidence erodes, and parents are left guessing between tutoring, discipline, and waiting it out. Without understanding the underlying cause — a learning difference, attention, anxiety, or something else entirely — every year of guessing costs your child ground that is hard to win back.

What Can a Psychoeducational Evaluation Help With?
- Is this dyslexia or something else?
- Why are grades falling despite real effort?
- Is it attention, anxiety, or both?
- Does my child qualify for a 504 plan or IEP?
- Should we request extended time on tests?
- Is my child gifted — or gifted and struggling?
- Why is homework such a battle?
- What supports should we ask the school for?
Sometimes the question is simple: is this a rough patch, or a pattern that needs support? An evaluation replaces guesswork with answers. If your child may also need documentation for a Florida scholarship, see our Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations (CDE).
THE EVALUATIONS
What a Psychoeducational
Evaluation Can Answer
Learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia)
We assess reading, writing, and math skills against cognitive ability to identify specific learning disorders — and describe exactly which supports and interventions fit your child’s profile.
ADHD and executive functioning
Attention measures, rating scales, and executive functioning assessment clarify whether ADHD, anxiety, or learning differences best explain what teachers are seeing. Learn more about our ADHD testing and support in Miami.
School accommodations (IEP & 504 plans)
Our reports document needs in the language schools use, so IEP and 504 conversations start from evidence instead of impressions. We can collaborate directly with your child’s school team when helpful.
Gifted eligibility
If intellectual giftedness is part of the question, cognitive testing can support gifted eligibility review. See our dedicated gifted testing in Miami & Coral Gables page.

Questions About Psychoeducational Evaluations
How is this different from the school district's evaluation?
School evaluations determine eligibility for school services using district criteria. Our evaluations answer your questions — diagnosis, learning profile, and recommendations — without being limited by eligibility cutoffs, and typically move much faster than the district timeline.
Can the evaluation be done in Spanish?
Yes. Our Florida school psychologist provides evaluations and parent feedback in English and Spanish.
What ages do you evaluate?
We evaluate children and adolescents, from early childhood through the school years. During the intake call we will confirm the right assessment plan for your child’s age.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance. You may contact your insurance provider regarding potential out-of-network reimbursement for testing services.
Will Miami-Dade schools accept your report?
Our reports are written to support school-based decisions, including IEP, 504, and eligibility discussions. Schools make their own determinations, but we document findings in the format school teams expect and can collaborate with them directly.
