Lauren Botter, Psy.D. is a Postdoctoral Fellow. She earned her Doctorate in School-Community Psychology from Hofstra University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from The George Washington University. Her clinical training has included university counseling centers, schools, and community mental health settings, where she has provided psychotherapy, conducted psychoeducational evaluations, collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, and worked with families using parent management strategies to support children’s emotional and behavioral growth.
Lauren is dedicated to working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem challenges, and emotion regulation difficulties. She has a particular passion for helping children and adolescents build resilience and confidence while also supporting emerging adults as they navigate identity development, relationships, academic and career stress, and life’s many transitions.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychology while incorporating strengths-based, person-centered, and culturally responsive practices. Lauren works alongside clients to build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Lauren believes therapy is about more than reducing symptoms—it’s about recognizing strengths, building resilience, and creating a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. She strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their goals.
