Specialties

Reid Birdoff, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and dual Masters in General and Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education. Reid specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Executive Functioning Training. Prior to becoming a social worker, Reid’s background was in education as a 7th and 8th grade special education teacher. Her experience in education allows her to understand the necessary skills (both emotionally and as it relates to executive function) for a child to thrive in a classroom environment.

Her therapeutic focus includes supporting clients through life transitions, stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, school-related concerns, executive functioning challenges, and diverse learning needs, including attention difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Reid understands how challenging it can be to find the right therapist and strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings, challenge themselves, and learn practical tools to cope with difficulties. She sees therapy as a collaborative journey, one that fosters resilience, encourages self-discovery, and builds confidence as clients navigate new experiences and transitions.

Reid offers therapy for teenagers (12+) and adults (18+) and is available mornings, daytime, and evenings. She welcomes new clients and offers sessions in person on the Upper East Side and via telehealth in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
